Pedernales Falls State Park

Pedernales Falls State Park, run by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, has one of the easiest bird blinds in the Hill Country to reach.
Bird blind: easy access
- The park lists the blind as wheelchair accessible.
- A paved asphalt path about 100 feet long leads to it, and the floor inside is asphalt too.
- Parking is in a grassy area a few yards from the path.
- The blind is open-air with a roof and a long glass viewing wall, about 35 feet wide.
- The park keeps water and feeders going all year, and puts up hummingbird feeders in spring and summer.
Good to know
- The park says all trails down to the river are rough and not wheelchair accessible.
- Restrooms at headquarters and the scenic overlook parking and picnic area are listed as wheelchair accessible.
- Entry: $6 a day for ages 13 and up; kids 12 and under get in free. The park is open daily, the office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the gates are closed from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Fees and hours can change, so check the park's page before you go.
- The park closes on some days for permitted hunts. Its alerts page lists the dates.
